72 - Jesus’ work on the cross

Great sacrifice by Christ was made, when on the cross He died.

Redemption’s price, the Savior paid, for sinners such as I.

Refrain: 

Jesus’ work on the cross brought salvation to my life,

He, the burden of my heart, took away.

I believed in Him, and was given my sight;

And now, I’m rejoicing every day!

Was it for crimes that I have done, He groaned upon the tree?

What grace beyond comparison, and love beyond degree!

3.

God’s Lamb, for me, His life did give; such love for me, He showed!

For Him alone, I want to live; to Him, my life I owe.
