Oh, lead me onward, dear Savior, lead me,

My way is bleak and filled with care;

With many sorrows, my heart is weary,

Oh, give me strength, Lord, my cross to bear.

Though darkest clouds hover all around me,

I lift my eyes to Thee;

Dear Lord, deliver me,

And lead me gently on.

O loving Jesus, my Lord and Savior,

I long to hear Thy tender voice;

In Thee is mercy and every goodness;

In hope of glory, I shall rejoice.

I will be taught by Thy Holy Spirit,

Thy truth shall courage give,

I feel Thee near me, O precious Savior,

I walk in peace, my path is bright.

The clouds of darkness that once beset me,

Have been dispelled now by Thy great light.

The load of care, from my heart was lifted,

Thy constant help I see,

I know Thou lovest me;

O blessed Jesus, my loving Shepherd,

Beside still waters, restore my soul.

In paths of justice, Thou wilt direct me;
