51 - Jesus died on the cross

On a day full of grace, Jesus died on the cross,

Where alone, He bore anguish and shame;

What a love so divine, He displayed for the lost,

When from heaven, as Savior He came.

Refrain: 

To fulfill God’s great plan, Jesus died, and to God, He the world reconciled.

Christ was risen, He was glorified, and now sits at the Father’s right side.

2.

Christ, the dear Lamb of God, left His glory above,

And was willing to die in our place.

Jesus paid for our sins, by God’s infinite love,

So that we could be saved by His grace!

3.

At the darkest last hour, as He hung in plain view,

Jesus cried to His Father above.

Though forsaken He felt, to the end He was true;

Now we stand in His freedom and love.
