50 - He gave His life for all mankind
1:
Our Lord was sent from heav’n above, to do the Father’s will.
His life, He gave for us in love; God’s plan He did fulfill.
Delivered to be crucified, He walked to Calv’ry’s hill.
He wore a crown of thorns in pain; they shamed Him in plain sight.
Though blameless, He, for us, was slain, to give us hope and life.
2:
They pierced His hands and feet with nails, but His love never failed.
Through agony, His heart held true; redemption’s plan prevailed.
He even asked God to forgive those causing His travail.
Christ bore the weight of sin alone, His love for all displayed.
He gave His life for all mankind; our debt of sin, He paid.
3:
The earth did shake and rocks were rent, as Jesus closed His eyes.
The temple veil was torn in two; the Lamb was sacrificed.
Yet in His death, new life was born, for His love never died.
Christ rose triumphant from the grave, as He had thus foretold;
Like Him, we too shall resurrect; God’s face we shall behold.
