Closer, my God, to You, closer each day;

When trials come my way, close to You I’ll stay.

In every step I take, guide me, O Lord, I pray.

Lift me through all I face; keep me in Your way.

Like Jacob on that night, wandering far,

Though darkness clouds my view, You, Lord, are my star.

You call to me by name; my rock and strength You are,

Shelter in every storm, keeper of my heart.

3:

Jesus, by faith I see, stairs to your light;

Every good gift You send, fills me with delight.

You, Lord, will lead me home, and I will have no fright,

Safe in your boundless care, guarded by Your might.
