Onward, soldiers of the Lord, marching as to war,

With our Lord and Savior going on before!

Christ, our royal King and Guide, leads against the foe;

Into battle we will go and valor we must show!

With our Lord and Savior going on before!

When our triumph is at hand, evil hosts will flee;

On, then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!

Darkness’ core will shaken be, at the shout of praise;

Lift your voices strongly, brethren; loud your anthems raise!

Like an army trained for war, moves the church of God;

Brethren, we are treading where the saints have trod.

We must be in unity; one in Christ are we,

One in hope and one in doctrine, one in charity.
