48 - Be still, my soul

1:

Be still, my soul: the Lord is close beside you.

With patience bear the cross of grief or pain.

God will supply your every need, and guide you;

In every change, He faithful will remain.

Be still, my soul: the Lord will fortify you.

He’s on His throne and He will keep His own.

2:

Be still, my soul: your God has undertaken

To guide the future, as He has the past.

Be firm in hope, with confidence unshaken;

What is still hidden, will be known at last.

Be still, my soul: by God we’re not forsaken;

At His command, no evil pow’r can stand.

3:

Be still, my soul: when angst and pain disarm us,

When darkness falls, and life becomes so drear.

You’ll fully know the love that Christ imparts us;

He’ll come to soothe your sorrow and your fear.

Be still, my soul: when loss on earth alarms us;

Christ can restore what’s lost, and even more.
