49 - Stand up, stand up for Jesus

1:

Stand up, stand up for Jesus; go forward in His name!

Put on His holy armor; His wondrous grace proclaim.

For vict'ry is His promise; He’ll guide and lead us through,

Till evil pow’r is vanquished, and all things are made new.

2:

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, with faith, His call now heed.

Go forth in every trial and with His strength, succeed.

Stand watchful, guard His banner; you need not fear nor dread.

In battle, fight with courage, for Christ is at the head.

3:

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, stand in His strength alone,

For human strength will fail you; don’t dare to trust your own.

Put on God’s holy armor; the shield of faith employ,

To quench the darts of evil, that Christ will soon destroy.

4:

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, for strife will pass away;  

The trials faced in conflict, lead to a crown one day.  

All those who stand enduring, all those by Christ redeemed, 

Shall be with Him in glory, when He will reign supreme.
